The Road to “22” and “47” (PROLOGUE)

If you’re wondering what the title means it really should say:

“The Road to a 22sec 200m and a 47sec 400m”

however thats a really long title that even I wouldn’t read.

Anyways below is all of the 2014-2015 track videos i could find. I’d say roughly 95% of them are in this video, so only a couple of races left out.

If you search for my track career online this is likely the only collection of my races and jumps they have. It is very incomplete. The link is below:

http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=4152845#/L0

Just to state my PR’s are:

100m — 11.4 sec (not in video sadly)

200m — 23.423 sec @5:44-6:11 in the video below

400m — 52.603 sec @8:18-9:16 in the video below

Long Jump — 19’7″ (not in video sadly)

Triple Jump — 39′ 5″ (not in video sadly)

Video Summary:

2014:

200m

  • 24.374 sec
  • 23.974 sec
  • 25.008 sec
  • 24.541 sec

4 x 400m

  • 54.738 sec (400m)

2015:

200m

  • 23.657 sec
  • 23.941 sec
  • 24.491 sec
  • 23.624 sec
  • 23.423 sec

400m

  • 52.92 sec
  • 53.437 sec
  • 52.603 sec
  • 54.454 sec
  • 53.27 sec
  • 54.104 sec
  • 52.786 sec
  • 52.753 sec

4 x 100m (ANCHOR LEG)

  • 11.044 sec (105m) = ~10.518 sec (100m)

200m part of 800m SMR

  • 22.439 sec (200m)

4 x 400m (ANCHOR LEG)

  • 54.104 sec (410m) = ~52.784 sec (400m)

Therefore using the formulas from:

https://nexxusofchester.wordpress.com/2016/08/17/60m-to-100m-to-200m-to-400m-time-formulas/

If I want a 22 sec 200m I need to have:

  • ~10.87 sec 100m ± 2%

If I want a 47 sec 400m I need to have:

  • ~21.18 sec 200m ± 5%

  • ~10.47 sec 100m ± 5%

So goals in general:

100m = ~10.5 sec

200m = ~21.2 sec

400m = ~47 sec

With that in mind and my PR’s I need to:

  • decrease my 100m time by ~0.9 sec (~7.9%)

  • decrease my 200m time by ~2.2 sec (~9.5%)

  • decrease my 400m time by ~5.6 sec (~10.7%)
